Jimmy Kimmel’s Smiley Son

Funnyman Jimmy Kimmel shared a cute closeup of 5-month-old son Billy via Instagram.

“Thanks to all who stood up and spoke out from this happy guy and his less-fortunate friends #GoodbyeGrahamCassidy,” he captioned the image of his smiley son resting on his legs.

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! star has publicly opposed the Graham-Cassidy bill and advocated to repeal Obamacare since his baby boy underwent open-heart after his birth.

And Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney also posted a photo of their son on Twitter.

The proud mama sent a message of thanks to Senator John McCain for opposing the Graham-Cassidy bill.

“Thanks for fighting for kids like me,” she captioned the picture of her baby boy dressed in a boxing robe and gloves.

Last week, Kimmel posted a photo of their son visiting at work.

Kimmel and McNearney welcomed their son — full name William “Billy” John Kimmel — on April 21.

While announcing the birth of his son, Kimmel, 49, said that nurses and doctors discovered their newborn had a heart disease that required open heart surgery. He went on to thank the entire staff at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for saving their son’s life.

“My wife was in bed relaxing, a very attentive nurse at Cedars-Sinai heard a murmur in his heart and noticed he was a bit purple, which is not common,” Kimmel explained. “[Nurses] determined he wasn’t getting enough oxygen in his blood, either in his heart or lungs … It’s a terrifying thing, you know my wife is back in the recovery room, she has no idea what’s going on.”

Their son was born with a congenital heart disease and there was a “hole in the wall of the left and right side of his heart.”

“He’ll have to have another surgery in 3-6 months,” Kimmel said, adding that Billy will need a third “non-evasive surgery when he’s older.”
