Audrey Roloff Talks Loving Her ‘Chunky Girl,’ Breastfeeding Struggles

Everyone loves seeing updates on cute little Ember Roloff. Now Audrey Roloff is sharing a six-month update on her daughter with Jeremy Roloff of Little People, Big WorldIn Touch Weekly shared all about the update and how open Audrey is being open with her fans about her struggle with breastfeeding.

Audrey Roloff shared that they took Ember to her six-month checkup and that this little girl has rolls she is very thankful for. Audrey explained that they were first told that she wouldn’t be able to feed her little girl by just breastfeeding. They have been able to pull it off and her daughter is six-months-old and in the 90 percentile, which has the couple really excited. It has been a huge battle for her, but Audrey feels like it was worth fighting to be able to breastfeed. Audrey has been able to get her little girl to this size all from breastfeeding her and that was something she felt like wouldn’t happen at first.

Audrey is constantly posting updates on Instagram of her adorable little girl and you can tell that Ember is very healthy and a happy baby who seems to be smiling all the time in her mom’s posts.

Another thing that Audrey Roloff explained was that she wants everyone to know that they shouldn’t compare their journey to hers and that each mama has their own journey. She made it very clear that breastfeeding was important to her, but she understands if it isn’t for some people and that they should do what is best for them.

GRACE. If I had to sum up what motherhood has taught me into one word, it would be grace. I can be pretty hard on myself, and motherhood is teaching me to give myself grace in the moments when I feel unequipped, ill prepared, or like I don’t measure up… On the days when I discover I haven’t been doing something that everyone else seems to be doing, grace.  When my ideals don’t fit to reality, grace. When I’m overwhelmed by all the conflicting research on all the hot button issues, grace. When I start to compare myself to the other mama warriors out there, grace. When I get criticized and accused, grace. When I realize I’m not the kind, patient, and loving wife intend to be, grace. When I get down on myself for working too much or not enough, grace.  When I haven’t checked anything off my to-do list, grace. When I’ve worn the same outfit 7 days in a row, grace. I am choosing to release my harsh and sometimes worldly standards and learning to embrace His grace in my weakness. His power is perfected in my weakness. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Audrey revealed back in January that she has been dealing with mastitis, which is an inflammation of the breast that is caused by an infection and makes breastfeeding Ember very difficult. It all started out really hard for her, but things have gotten better. She shared a lot of details with fans.

“It took me a solid two months, maybe two and a half months before I really started to see an increase in my supply and breastfeeding became a lot easier. Since delivering Ember, I struggled with mastitis on and off. I was severely engorged. On top of that, Ember had a really severe tongue tie that we had to get surgically fixed about two or three weeks after she was born. Before that, I was having a lot of blistering and bruising.”

The fans should get to see a lot of Audrey Roloff’s journey when Little People, Big World returns for a new season on TLC. Now that Jeremy and Audrey are back in Portland with the family they should be showing a lot more of their day to day life.
