How To Take the Perfect Family Holiday Card

‘Tis the season for getting your family together for that perfect holiday shot for that holiday card. For mother’s out there this can be anything but fun. A lot of mamas put so much pressure on themselves and their kiddos to get that perfect holiday shot that will end up in your 100 plus closest friends mailbox’s. So how do you nail this year’s holiday pic and have some fun with it? Here are a few tips that can make this year’s family photo shoot a little more relaxed

Make Sure Your Timing is Spot On

As a mother, you know when your kids are at their best. If they aren’t a morning person don’t schedule your holiday shoot first thing in the morning on a Saturday. If they get hungry easily, bring snacks for them to munch on so when you arrive at your location they are well fueled and ready to vogue.

Theme

To make things flow easier pick out what all of your family members are going to wear ahead of time. Have everything laid out the night before so there isn’t any last minute freak out session of where is my sweater? Coordinating outfits can be a fun added touch to your holiday shoot and adding some props into the mix can help keep your kiddos preoccupied during the photo session.

Reward

Bribe your kiddos if you need to, don’t worry we won’t tell Santa. But seriously, tell your munchkins that if they behave and cooperate during the shoot they can get a treat afterward like that favorite ice cream flavor or candy. Also, keep ammunition on deck if your children start to have a meltdown in the middle of your shoot. Your kiddos favorite candy or stickers in your back pocket may come in handy.

Take a Deep Breath

Just remember that this is a fun activity for you and your family and to not take it too seriously. Let your kids let loose a bit during your shoot. And remember, like life, your holiday shoot is probably not going to go exactly as you planned. So take a cue from your little ones and have fun with them, usually, the best shots are the candid ones.

Duggars Add a New Baby to the Family

The Duggar family of Counting On has added a new baby to the family. This is exciting news for the Duggars. The thing is you might not see this baby on the show. In Touch Weekly shared that Anna Duggar’s sister just had a baby. Considering that Anna and Josh aren’t on the show anymore, it is highly doubtful the baby will be on there. You never know who will show up at a wedding or event, though.

This is the 4th child for Priscilla, and her husband, David. He shared the news with fans on Instagram letting everyone know that the baby was here. David was really excited about the news. He said, “Destiny Faith Waller is here! She was born at 10:53am on October 2, 2018 Priscilla, Destiny and family are all doing well! We praise the Lord for a safe delivery with no complications! She weighs 8lbs 5oz and is 22.25 inches long.”

Anna Duggar has been really excited about this baby on the way as well. Back in April, she shared about it. Anna makes it pretty obvious that she loves her nieces and nephews. The entire Duggar family likes children considering how many they have. There always seems to be a new one on the way.

Priscilla and David have been sharing a lot of information on their blog about the new baby. It turns out that her other sister was visiting when the baby came. They shared the details.

“Priscilla looks up to her sisters so much. Esther has been an example and encouragement for Priscilla over the years. The Lord orchestrated the timing of Destiny’s birth to be precisely during the only night that Priscilla’s oldest sister Esther was visiting our home. She is on a short leave from mission work that she and her husband John do along with their eleven children in Zambia, Africa. Esther was able to visit along with two of her children.”

You never know who will announce that a baby is on the way next. With so many Duggar kids and all of their wives and husbands, babies are always coming for this family. It is such a blessing and they love having them around.

Do you think that Josh and Anna Duggar will be having another baby soon? Let us know in the comments section below, and don’t miss new episodes of Counting On when the show returns to TLC with new episodes. The finale just aired, but more should be coming an exact date has just not been shared yet.

Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds Jet off to Mexico Kids Free

Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King Edmonds has built up the courage to leave her three children for some much-needed one on one time with retired baseball hubby Jim Edmonds, 48.

Family first

A post shared by Meghan King Edmonds (@meghankedmonds) on

The 34-year-old TV personality wrote an honest and candid post revealing, “we’ve become complacent in our lives and have taken each other for granted.” Meghan went on to reveal this is she and Jim’s first vacation since before their eldest child Aspen was born well over two years ago.  “When I think about it, it doesn’t seem like it’s been that long – we’ll always have more time to do what we want.  But life is short and we are seizing the moment!” Edmonds wrote.

Like a lot of marriages, the mom of three admits that her marriage has taken a back seat to raising her children and the foundation of her marriage is suffering.

Meghan continued, “Our marriage needs it. We’ve had three babies in under two years.  We’re building a house, we’ve sold and moved homes numerous times, we’ve quit jobs and started new ones. We are constant fixtures in our marriage that are often ignored and we need shining and buffing.  We need US back… and the sad part is that we never even realized “we” were missing.”

Meghan King Edmonds admitted she is “anxious” about leaving her three kids behind in California but is looking forward to a romantic vacation with just she and her hubby. “Most of all I’m looking forward to hanging out with my husband and not worrying about when the babies need to eat next or who has gas or why one hasn’t pooped.”

Edmonds realizes that not everyone is able to pick up and fly to Mexico for some R&R. She suggested a couple savvy options to her fans that can still benefit you and your spouse that desperately need some alone time but can’t afford a vacation. Meghan suggests, “a staycation at a local hotel or a very special date like a picnic in the park without cell phones.”

Edmonds ended her blog post by encouraging all the fellow mamas out there to “nourish yourself in whatever way you need. Whatever you can do, just do it, your marriage and former self will thank you a thousand times over.”

Prince William Reveals Princess Charlotte and Prince George’s Favorite Bedtime Story

Ever wonder what Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince George‘s beloved bedtime story are? The Duke of Cambridge, 36, revealed that The Gruffalo is a “big hit” with his two eldest kids.

While meeting the book’s author at a conservation event held at Kensington Palace on Monday Prince William told the writer, “I know who you are.”

The Duke told the children’s book author Julia Donaldson and illustrator for the book Axel Scheffler that it’s one of George’s and Charlotte’s most-liked stories.

Prince William also joked that his son George, 5, would be “keeping an eye” on the model rhino the author and illustrator decorated as part of an art installation to raise awareness for the dissipating rhino population that has occurred over the years due to poaching.

After meeting Donaldson, 69, and Scheffler, 61, William admitted to them, “I know who you are. It’s a big hit in our household.”

The book that was first published in 1999 tells the story of a mouse who takes a stroll in the enchanted forest and comes across several creatures that want to eat him. Along the way, the mouse meets a Gruffalo, a hybrid of a bear and buffalo.

William spoke about the duo’s decorated rhino they created giving praise, “‘It’s amazing, I love it. You can tell it’s you guys. It’s the eyes of the animals I think, you can always tell the eyes.’

Donaldson and Scheffler were asked to decorate 1 of 21 model rhino’s that were displayed at the event on behalf of the conservation organization Tusk. William has been a royal patron of the conservation group since 2005, and it was one of the first charities that he adopted.

Tusk works with Africa’s conservations to protect their endangered wildlife and fight against poaching. This has been a topic near and dear to William who has commissioned to stop illegal wildlife trade under the umbrella of his United for Wildlife coalition.

William was grateful to Donaldson and Scheffler for taking part in bringing awareness to the world’s endangered animals that are suffering. He thanked them for helping teach the younger generations about the importance of keeping our wildlife safe. “We need the young generations to really understand,” William said.
