Justin Bieber Takes Paternity Test: Report

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Justin Bieber as the “Baby” singer fights off accusations he fathered a baby with a fan, Mariah Yeater.

But it may be almost over: Bieber has taken a paternity test in New Jersey, according to a TMZ report.

The pop star, 17, reportedly went to a lab to take the test under “very controlled circumstances,” and now Yeater, 20, just has to provide DNA from her child.

A rep for Bieber had no comment on the paternity test but a source told PEOPLE the singer planned to submit DNA last Friday.

Although Yeater’s lawsuit was dropped last week, her new team of lawyers says she still wanted to pursue her claim outside the courtroom.

One of lawyers, Chicago-based attorney Jeffrey M. Leving, previously told PEOPLE he was negotiating with Bieber’s counsel to reach a confidentiality agreement to get private testing and results.

Bieber’s team has already stated that they will “vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.”

In the suit, Yeater alleged that Bieber, who is currently dating fellow pop star Selena Gomez, lost his virginity to her backstage at an L.A. tour stop. The drama is further complicated by their age gap: In the state of California, the age of consent is 18, and Bieber would have been 16 at the time of the alleged sexual encounter.

“I know that I’m going to be a target,” Bieber said two days after the suit was filed, “but I’m never going to be a victim.”

With her paternity lawsuit against Justin Bieber reportedly dropped, Mariah Yeater now is trying to pursue her claim out of court.

“This matter is not over,” Jeffery M. Leving, who says he’s one of Yeater’s new lawyers, tells WGN-TV in Chicago. “Negotiations are going on right now with Bieber’s counsel. There’s a new legal team [in place.]”

Yeater, 20, still “believes Justin Bieber is the father,” he adds. “We’re trying to secure a private DNA test, because this case is out of control.”

Leving adds that Yeater has been receiving death threats and that he fears for her safety. “I don’t want something terrible to happen to my client or her child,” Leving says.

“My goal, when a DNA test is completed, is to keep everything confidential, which will be difficult if not impossible,” he says. “I’m very concerned about this.”

Bieber’s spokesman Matthew Hiltzik has not commented specifically on the reported withdrawal of the case but says, “As we’ve said from the beginning, it’s sad that someone would fabricate such a malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claim. We’ll continue to consider all of our options to protect Justin.”

Report: Jay-Z Has A Secret Son

Report: Jay-Z Has A Secret Son

The world may have been shocked to learn that Beyoncé Knowles and her rapper hubby Jay-Z are expecting their first child together, but what may be more shocking is the allegation that the Big Pimpin’ singer fathered a son with Trinidadian model Shenelle Scott nine years ago.

Star magazine reports that Jerald Andrews – the father of Scott’s ex Malik Sayeed – claims that his son thought he was the child’s father until DNA tests proved otherwise.

“Everyone knew she was sleeping around and sleeping with Jay,” the source says. “There was a good chance it was his.”

Sayeed – who was named as the father on the boy’s birth certificate – learned that the test results determined that Jay-Z is the father and reportedly kicked Scott out of this house.

“It’s been determined that [the child is] Jay-Z’s,” Andrews says.

According to Andrews, Scott and her son are currently living back in Trinidad where they maintain a comfortable lifestyle on the rapper’s dime.

Shenelle told me that Jay-Z gave her $1 million to keep her mouth shut. Shenelle took that money and bought herself a really nice house in Trinidad that the whole family lives in now. My understanding is that he’s paying her child support.”

Although the Empire State Of Mind musician may have wanted the secret to stay just that, Andrews claims that the couple’s relationship is quite amicable.

“She says he’s a good father and he has a lot of interest in [the boy],” reveals Andrews. “It was a big old mess at one time, but I think once they resolved the issue of fatherhood, of paternity, I think things started to level off.”

According to sources, Star magazine reports that although Beyoncé was not happy to learn of her husband’s secret son, she has stood by him.
