Jessica Simpson is a Proud Mama After her Kiddos School Performance

Jessica Simpson, 38, is one proud mama. The pregnant star shared a pic on her Instagram of her two kids Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 5, after they nailed their performance in their school’s winter program.

“I’m so proud of my kiddos for being such standout talents!” Simpson captioned a post of her two children outside of their school wearing matching navy blazers with gold buttons.

The fashion designer also shared a family pic from the day, probably one of the last as a family of four. With her husband Eric Johnson, 39, by her side with their two kids, the mama-to-be gushed writing. “My family is my happy place.”

Jessica Simpson was coy, standing behind her daughter Maxwell concealing her bump. Her son Ace was on Johnson’s shoulders, who was in the holiday spirit sporting a Christmas sweater of Santa showing off his abs. The Dukes of Hazzard actress looked lovingly at her daughter.

Simpson made the surprise announcement in September that she and her retired NFL hubby were adding to their brood. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life,” she shared on her social media at the time.

And the fashion mogul’s sister Ashlee Simpson, 34, revealed last month that the sisters rely on each other for mom advice. They are each other’s mommy and me group.

Ashlee who is the mother of her two kids, Jaggar, 2, who she shares with husband Evan Ross and Bronx, 10, from her previous marriage with Pete Wentz admitted, “Jagger’s my first daughter, so things she’s dealt with Maxwell on, I can call her about. It’s really nice. We both give each other advice. Actually, I think don’t that it’s advice. We just talk to each other about things.”

Tis the Season to Conceive

We are in full swing for the holiday season. With Thanksgiving under our belt next up is getting out that Christmas tree, sending out those holiday cards, checking off our gift giving list and conceiving. Yup, you heard right, the holiday season is statistically the most popular time to conceive.

Data journalist Matt Stiles compiled stats from the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics and the U.S Social Security Administration from the years 1994 and 2014. What Stiles concluded from his investigation is the most common American birthdays fall on September 9, 19 and 12. He also concluded that 9 out of the 10 most popular birthdays fall in the month of September.

So if mid-September is the most popular time to give birth in the United States and we count backward and do our math right that means the child was conceived during the holiday season. So why is that? More Americans take time off from their jobs and spend it at home with their loved ones between Thanksgiving and Christmas. While it’s notorious for being a bustling time that can be stressful for most a large part of Americans find it to be the perfect time to reconnect with their mate.

On the flip side, the holiday season isn’t a popular time to give birth. According to Stiles research Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day are the least popular days to welcome your newborn. That’s due to the likelihood that  OB-GYN’s aren’t going to schedule a C-section on the major holidays unless medically necessary of course.

Who says the holidays are a stressful time filled with family dynamics, long distance travels and deadlines to meet? So remember to take some time out for your partner and enjoy a cup of eggnog together. Because according to hard fact data, that kiss under the mistletoe really does work.  ‘Tis the season to conceive as it were.

How To Take the Perfect Family Holiday Card

‘Tis the season for getting your family together for that perfect holiday shot for that holiday card. For mother’s out there this can be anything but fun. A lot of mamas put so much pressure on themselves and their kiddos to get that perfect holiday shot that will end up in your 100 plus closest friends mailbox’s. So how do you nail this year’s holiday pic and have some fun with it? Here are a few tips that can make this year’s family photo shoot a little more relaxed

Make Sure Your Timing is Spot On

As a mother, you know when your kids are at their best. If they aren’t a morning person don’t schedule your holiday shoot first thing in the morning on a Saturday. If they get hungry easily, bring snacks for them to munch on so when you arrive at your location they are well fueled and ready to vogue.

To make things flow easier pick out what all of your family members are going to wear ahead of time. Have everything laid out the night before so there isn’t any last minute freak out session of where is my sweater? Coordinating outfits can be a fun added touch to your holiday shoot and adding some props into the mix can help keep your kiddos preoccupied during the photo session.

Bribe your kiddos if you need to, don’t worry we won’t tell Santa. But seriously, tell your munchkins that if they behave and cooperate during the shoot they can get a treat afterward like that favorite ice cream flavor or candy. Also, keep ammunition on deck if your children start to have a meltdown in the middle of your shoot. Your kiddos favorite candy or stickers in your back pocket may come in handy.

Take a Deep Breath

Just remember that this is a fun activity for you and your family and to not take it too seriously. Let your kids let loose a bit during your shoot. And remember, like life, your holiday shoot is probably not going to go exactly as you planned. So take a cue from your little ones and have fun with them, usually, the best shots are the candid ones.

Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company Makes a Very Special Donation on Mother’s Day

Jessica Alba and The Honest Company Donated 1.5 million Diapers in Honor of Mother’s Day.

Baby2Baby is a Los Angeles based nonprofit that helps low-income kids up to the age of 12. The organization provides diapers, clothing and other essentials that no child should go without.

Jessica Alba, the 37-year-old co-founder of The Honest Company, made a statement on behalf of the nonprofit, “At The Honest Company, we’re devoted to empowering people to live happy, healthy lives. A mother should never have to choose between feeding her children and buying diapers. Baby2Baby helps new mothers so they don’t have to make that impossible decision, and we can’t think of a better charitable partner for The Honest Company.”

The Honest Company’s goal is to allocate Baby2Baby with bundles filled with diapers and other hygienic necessities for over 600 families throughout the year. The Honest Company has also pledged to visit the nonprofit’s headquarters monthly to assist with putting together the kits for the families.

This Mother’s Day was also an extra special one for philanthropist since growing her brood to a family of five. This year marks Jessica Alba’s first year as a mother of three. She and husband Cash Warren welcomed their son Hayes in December.

Jessica posted a picture with her daughter’s Honor, 9, Haven, 6, and baby Hayes to pay tribute to all the mother’s out there for the holiday. She went on to write how the title of mother is “the best and hardest and most heartbreaking thing there is.”

She went on to add, “Your world gets turned completely upside down. Everything you thought you knew about what was important is no longer. And all the things you once took for granted- like sleep, and sitting down to eat an actual meal-become the greatest luxuries. Little people change you.”
