Why Does Alfonso Ribeiro Want to Have Another Baby ‘Really Soon?’

When Alfonso Ribeiro and his wife Angela had a baby boy last October, they got a crash course on the difference between sons and daughters.

Alfonso Lincoln is an awesome, fun little dude,” Ribeiro, who also has a 10-year-old daughter, Sienna, from a previous marriage, tells PEOPLE.

“But I’m really seeing the difference between ‘Daddy’s little girl’ and ‘Mama’s little boy.’ My son is really attached to his mama, and my daughter was really attached to me. I think that’s just the way things go.”

But there’s one thing that Ribeiro, 42, has going for him with his 5-month-old. “He knows my voice. If he hears my voice, even if it’s on TV, he starts looking around for me. He’s a lot of fun.”

Ribeiro tells PEOPLE that fatherhood inspired him to do more charity work. ”My children are fortunate not to grow up underprivileged, but millions of other kids don’t know what that’s like,” he says. “I want to help as many of them as I can.”

On Saturday night, Ribeiro served as emcee for the Back to School Blast of A Gift for Teaching, an organization that distributes school supplies to underprivileged children.

“Any time I can lend my name to a charity that benefits children, I try to do it,” he says. “It’s a good way to be an example to my own kids.”

And there may be more Ribeiros on the horizon.

“I’m not done having kids,” he says. “My wife and I have been talking about having one more. That needs to happen in the very near future. I don’t want to be 75 years old when my kid graduates from college, so I’m going to have to get on this really soon!”

He adds, “My wife wants to have a girl next, so we will go for the girl next — but you never know. We will be happy with whatever happens.”

Anthony Kiedis: Fatherhood Is a ‘Beautiful Club’

Three-quarters of the Red Hot Chili Peppers are now proud members of the daddy club — and say it can be about as crazy as some of their on-the-road adventures.

“I love the club,” frontman Anthony Kiedis, 48, explains. “Good God, it’s a beautiful club. Who knew? You can’t know until you go. It’s wild.”

Chatting during an appearance On the Record with Fuse airing Tuesday, Kiedis describes his 3½-year-old son Everly Bear — who sports his father’s signature hairstyle — as “a little boy who’s often mistaken for a girl because his hair is real long.”

Other members of the Chili Peppers’ growing brood include drummer Chad Smith‘s five childrenManon, Justin, Ava, Cole and Beckett, all under the age of 14.

Bassist Michael ‘Flea’ Balzary has daughter Sunny Bebop, 5½, with model Frankie Rayder, as well as elder daughter Clara, 22, who recently graduated from college and currently works as a photographer.

“I love being a father and wanted to be a father long before I had any business being a father,” he tells Fuse. “One could argue easily that I had no business being a father when I became a father at 25 … but I just love it. That kind of love — I have never experienced it before. That kind of unconditional, doing anything for a person love.”

Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who plays on the band’s new album I’m With You, remains childless for now, but it’s likely that he’s getting some encouragement from his bandmates to join the club.

Says Kiedis: “I think people that have fear that, ‘Oh if I have a kid I won’t be able to do this and I won’t be able to do that.’ It’s kind of the opposite. It really gives you energy. It makes people better.”

It’s official – Mariah Carey will appear on this fall’s buzzy new talent competition, The X Factor, a source close to the show tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Carey won’t be a judge, but rather a guest of a judge – in this case Simon Cowell, who hinted recently the diva was interested in joining the show.

“Mariah is definitely confirmed to be a part of X Factor,” the source says. “She is confirmed to tape something with Simon Cowell at the judge’s homes.”
