Prince George Turns 5!

Prince George is officially 5-years-old! The third in line for the crown celebrated his fifth birthday on July 22nd and to mark the occasion Kensington Palace released a new photo of the Prince.

The Palace released the photo on behalf of William, 36, and Kate, 36, on the Royals official Instagram. The picture captures the essence of the Prince, a happy and cheeky young boy and it’s astonishing how fast he is growing into a young man. The photo was taken the same day as his little brother Prince Louis’ christening. George is leaning against a brick wall in the shot and has a grin ear to ear.

The Palace wrote a note alongside the post that read, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday – thank you everyone for your lovely messages.”

And what a year the little Prince has had! Looking back on his fourth year, George has had a lot of firsts and exciting changes. In the fall of 2017, Prince George started a new school and now attends Thomas’s Battersea.

George became a big brother for the second time when he and his sister Charlotte, 3, welcomed their new sibling Louis in April. The Prince also got to wear pants publicly for the first time when he was a page boy in his Uncle Harry’s wedding. Perhaps his most memorable moments was during the Trooping the Colour. George couldn’t help his cheeky self and his cousin Savannah graciously put him in his place by covering his mouth and shushed him.

So you might be wondering what a 5-year-old Prince enjoys doing? Well over the course of the year, we have learned about the Prince’s interest through his father Prince William and mother Duchess Kate. According to Kate, George is a fan of spaghetti. While attending a youth project in Luton earlier this year she divulged to a group of teens that George’s favorite meal is pasta!

The Duchess also revealed while on an official visit to the Natural History Museum that her son adores dinosaurs and his favorite is the T-Rex because they are “the noisiest and scariest.”

Prince William revealed during the year that George loves to play with stickers and his favorite TV show is Fireman Sam. While doing a radio show interview, William said of his son that he takes the show very seriously and expects his parents to do the same.

What has been most apparent this past year is the bond that George has with his sister Charlotte. The two have been by each other’s side since the beginning but as they grow older the special relationship the two share is undeniable. The sister/brother friendship has flourished before the public eye. Kate gushed at a royal engagement about how her children are becoming “very good friends.”

Happy Birthday, Prince George!

Kate Middleton: “It Takes A Whole Community To Help Raise A Child”

Expectant mum Kate Middleton looked simply radiant in a plum colored dress by Goat accessorized with a poppy brooch on Wednesday (November 8). The Duchess of Cambridge, 35, spoke at the opening of the annual School Leaders Forum run by one of her charity’s Place2Be in London, England. During her speech, she said that “it takes a whole community to help raise a child.”

After Kate’s speech, Kensington Palace shared a snapshot and quote via Instagram.

“The Duchess of Cambridge opened the Place2Be School School Leaders Forum, saying: ‘As a mother just getting used to leaving my own child at the school gates, it is clear to me that it takes a whole community to help raise a child. Whether we are school leaders, teachers, support staff or parents – we’re all in this together. We are all working to give children the emotional strength they need to face their futures and thrive.’ ” read the caption.

The night before, the mum-to-be stepped out for a charity gala held at Kensington Palace donning a black lace gown by Diane von Furstenburg.

After her appearance, Kensington Palace posted a photo and message via Instagram.

“This evening The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (AFNCCF) attended the charity’s Gala Dinner held at the Orangery in Kensington Palace. AFNCCF campaigns for a step change in children’s mental health and believes in the importance of early intervention and working with whole families, which can make a huge difference for those in vulnerable situations. The Gala Dinner was also an opportunity for AFNCCF to update guests on the building of their new Centre of Excellence,” read the caption.

Last month, Kate joined husband Prince William and her brother-in-law Prince Harry at the Coach Core graduation ceremony for more than 150 Coach Core apprentices at The London Stadium. At the event, the Duchess looked beautiful in a blue double-breasted Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini blazer, paired with a pair of black pants, black suede booties with chunky heels and Kiki McDonough laurel leaf earrings.

In September, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced their third pregnancy. Their royal baby is set to arrive in April 2018.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman had said that the Duchess is “better but she’s still suffering.”

The newborn will join the royal couple’s older children — 4-year-old son Prince George and 2-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte.

As Prince George made his bow on the first day of the visit to New Zealand, the new person in his life was quietly watching from the sidelines.

With her hair being blown in the chilly wind of the harbor-side airport, nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, 43, took in the scene along with about 100 members of the world’s media.

Borrallo had left the royal family’s jet slightly ahead of the smiling and waving Prince William, slightly ahead of the smiling and waving Kate and George, and was positioned, with Kate’s right-hand woman Rebecca Deacon, towards the tail of the plane to see the welcome.

She then followed the couple and their entourage into the terminal building a short walk away. Her first job on foreign soil for the couple would come only half an hour later when she looked after the little prince while his parents were given a Maori welcome at Government House.

Borrallo lives with the family at Apartment 1a, Kensington Palace, and, although she is from Spain, has lived in the U.K. for about 20 years.

Said to be “totally dedicated to the family” she’s working with, she is from a well-to-do family in Spain, and trained at the famous Norland College.

Since joining the family in March she has been spotted pushing the family’s Silver Cross pram in neighboring Kensington Gardens.

The couple were said by a palace spokesman to “delighted she has chosen to join them.”
