Caramel and Popcorn are delicious together, but neither snack-named turkey will be eaten this Thanksgiving, as both were formally pardoned by President Obama on Wednesday.

Popcorn was the winner of the public vote and the star of the official bird-pardoning ceremony, though the runner-up, Caramel, will be spared as well.

“And now, before these turkeys get away, with the power vested in me, I want to grant Popcorn a full reprieve … from cranberry sauce and stuffing. We wish you well,” Obama said. (Watch the clip below to see how it all went down.)

“The office of the presidency, the most powerful position in the world, brings with it many awesome and solemn responsibilities – this is not one of them,” the president joked. “But the White House turkey pardon is a great tradition, and I know Malia loves it, as does Sasha.”

According to the White House history of the event, the pardon stems from a story of President Lincoln, whose son Tad grew so attached to a turkey meant for Christmas dinner that he asked his father to spare the bird – and Lincoln agreed.

Karl Lagerfeld: ‘I’m Just Too Famous’

Karl Lagerfeld: ‘I’m Just Too Famous’

An Evening with Karl Lagerfeld in Conversation with Jessica Chastain in New York City on November 6, 2013 - ArrivalsKARL Lagerfeld says he’s too famous to walk down the street.

The Chanel designer entertained an impeccably dressed crowd during a conversation with Jessica Chastain Wednesday night at Lincoln Center.

According to New York Post gossip column Page Six, Karl called red carpets “a little too much sometimes — especially when you see all those mermaids and fishtail gowns, going in to see movies about poor girls in Eastern Europe.”

Karl says he hates retouching in magazines.

“Everyone looks like they stepped out of a funeral parlor,” he said.

Karl says he he keeps his infamous cat, Choupette, because dogs are too much work.

“You need a country house, and you need to walk them in the street. I cannot walk in the street anymore, I’m too easy to recognize. In the age of cellphones, it’s not a pleasant thing.”

Love Is All Around: Vote For Your Favorite Love Actually Story Line

Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of the theatrical release of Love Actually and we’ve been arguing about which story line was the best. To help us decide, we asked a few of the cast members to weigh in. So who is a fan of Billy Mack and Joe? The Walking Dead’s Andrew Lincoln prefers Mack’s story line to his own. And what of Harry and Karen’s dramatic story line? Elisha Cuthbert weighs in.

But even the film’s stars haven’t swayed us from our own favorites. (Me? I’m stuck in a Juliet, Peter and Mark love triangle; Emily? She’s a diehard Sarah, Karl and Michael fan.) So we turn it over to you to pick your favorite story line. Click through the gallery above to see what we and the stars had to say and then sound off below.

In case you missed it, we asked the cast about the chances of a sequel and they also shared secrets from the film.

Will There Be A Love Actually 2? The Cast Weighs In On The Chances Of A Sequel

It’s been 10 years since the release of Love Actually, and we’re bringing you as much celebratory content as possible to honor a film so many of us cherish. Watching it every year (or more) will typically suffice, but what happens when you get an itch for more Billy Mack that you just can’t scratch? What are he and his manager, Joe, lovebirds Jamie and Aurélia, and Colin, God of sex, and all of his American lassies, doing right now? After such success, we can’t help but wonder if the team behind the film has ever contemplated a sequel. So we asked!

To find out what the chances are of Love Actually 2 hitting theaters in the near future, check out what cast members and director Richard Curtis had to say. It can’t hurt to keep your fingers crossed, too.

Bill Nighy (Billy Mack): “Like a shot. I would be very, very happy. In fact, let’s… why aren’t we doing that? I’d be very happy to be doing that; I’d be very happy to get back into Lycra.”

Andrew Lincoln (Mark): “Yeah, of course!”

Elisha Cuthbert (Carol-Anne): “It’s such a wonderful film, I mean absolutely. I’d work with Richard any day of the week. Hopefully [Carol-Anne is] doing well and married and sort of out of trouble. But [she’d] be married to a Brit. She certainly likes the accent.”

Richard Curtis, Director: “I don’t think I will do a Love Actually sequel even though I do sometimes think about how those relationships will be going on. It was really hard to get Love Actually right, and I think if we did another one we might not get so lucky.”

We know they’ve each gone on to new, exciting projects, but the overwhelming majority clearly wants to get the band back together. Leave it to the director to be practical.
