Ayesha and Steph Curry Welcome a Son

NBA star Steph Curry has a new member in his family, a son!

Steph Curry announced on his Instagram on Wednesday that he and his wife Ayesha welcomed their third child, a boy named Canon W. Jack Curry. The Golden State Warrior’s star shared a picture of his new little guy writing alongside the photo, On this journey, on this quest… protect me… I’m blessed! Canon W. Jack Curry.”

July is a month of celebrations for the Curry brood. Ayesha, 29, and Steph, 30, are also parents to their two daughters Ryan Carson who turns 3 on Tuesday and Riley who turns 6 on July 19.

The new mama of three shared the first photo op of her daughters with their new baby brother via Instagram. The precious photo is a black and white of her two girls holding Canon. Ayesha captioned the photo, My heart is FULL. God has been too good to us. Our beautiful baby boy Canon W.Jack Curry 7/2/2018. He joined us earlier than we thought and we couldn’t be more excited and grateful. Family of 5!

The basketball star and his cookbook author wife did not reveal to their fans what they were having. Steph sat down with Ellen DeGeneres in February and admitted he was trying to win his wife over on the idea of waiting till they were in the delivery room to find out the sex of their third child.

“I would love to get to the delivery room and have that surprise. I’ve heard stories on both ends of finding out early, finding out when the baby was born. But she’s a planner, she wants to know,” he said.

Ayesha revealed in February on her blog that her third pregnancy had been harder than her first two. The chef admitted she had been suffering from acute morning sickness and exhaustion.

still have nausea, can’t sleep, pee every five seconds and am just so darn tired. I have what docs call Hyperemesis. This basically means the nausea, incessant sickness and exhaustion probably won’t go away.”

She went on to add, “The only silver linings here are that my itty-bitty baby is healthy and Princess Kate has suffered from the same condition during her pregnancies. Not feeling super royal though.”

Congrats Ayesha and Steph on your new team member!

Stephen Curry On Riley: “She’s The Star Of The Family”

Basketball pro Stephen Curry covers the June issue of Parents with daughters Riley, 3, and Ryan, 9 months. Along with wife Ayesha Curry, the basketball pro, 28, and The Seasoned Life author, 27, open up about the joys of parenthood.

On when Riley tagged along to a press conference and stole the show:

SC: “I have to walk past the family waiting room to get to the interview room, and Riley wanted to hang out with me. She had that look, like she wasn’t going to take no for an answer. So I said, all right, come with me. She sat up there, and that’s when her personality shined bright. I tried my best to answer the questions even while feeling under the table and checking out of the corner of my eye—where is Riley? She’s got a great sense of humor. Now she’s the star of the family. If we go somewhere without her, the first question people ask us is, ‘Where’s Riley?’ “

On their pregame ritual:

SC: “We have a pregame ritual right before tip-off where I do a sign, and she does it back.”

SC: “Should I give it away?”

AC: “No. [Awkward pause.]”

SC: “We have matching tattoos.”

AC: “I guess he’s giving it away. [Stephen lifts his sleeve and reveals a tattoo on his left triceps of two arrows pointing at each other.] Why are you flexing your muscles?”

SC: “I have to show it. This signifies that the past is behind us and the future is in front of us, so we stay in the middle, in the moment. I smack my tattoo and she does the same.”

AC: “It’s a reminder for him to have fun. I never want him to forget that.”

On their social media family rules:

SC: “We’ll just show each other a photo and ask, ‘Should I post this?’ We know we’re in a different situation than most people, but we want to share stuff that’s meaningful and not have to be guarded. But there is a balance. We keep certain moments to ourselves, so it’s a memory just for us.”

On Ayesha’s cookbook, The Seasoned Life, a culinary YouTube channel, Little Lights of Mine, and an upcoming show on the Cooking Channel:

AC: “My mom is Jamaican and Chinese, and my dad is Polish and African‑American, so I’m very mixed [culturally]. The kitchen was the center of our household. I spent all of my time there growing up.”

On Steph as a father:

AC: “The thing I love about him is that he’s not too cool for school. He’ll get down on the floor and play with the girls. He’ll put on dress‑up clothes if he has to, and he’s very patient, which is something I’m not. We balance each other out.”

On if they will have a third child:

SC: “We agreed to press pause and then reassess in a year or so.”

AC: “He’d have three more kids right now if he could.”

On milestones with the girls:

SC: “I think about the milestones from my childhood and what it will be like to watch our kids go through them. Taking Riley to her first day of school was a whirlwind. I can’t imagine what middle school is going to be like, and high school, and graduation. All those little checkpoints are going to be fun, and there will be ups and downs along the way. Watching our children go through those life experiences will be amazing.”
